About the Author

Patricia Steele is a researcher, strategist, and founder of Higher Ed Insight, a woman-owned consulting firm that partners with nonprofits, foundations, colleges, universities, and public agencies to strengthen learning, strategy, and impact.

Over the past two decades, she has worked at the intersection of evaluation, organizational learning, higher education, workforce development, and systems change — helping mission-driven organizations use data not simply for reporting, but for reflection, decision-making, and meaningful action.

Through facilitation, mixed-methods research, strategic advising, and collaborative learning processes, Steele has supported initiatives focused on student success, educational opportunity, workforce pathways, equity, and community impact. Her work has included partnerships with national nonprofits, philanthropic organizations, federal agencies, and higher education institutions across the country.

In Data for Good, Steele draws on both professional expertise and real-world organizational experience to offer a more human-centered approach to data, evaluation, and leadership.

She speaks regularly on evaluation strategy, organizational learning, and the role of data in strengthening mission-driven work.
